Giodi Spa Company selects Porex to design the extra-large tip of its Mega Marker for children. The high quality, durability and cost-effectiveness of Porex’s tip design contributes to the product’s success as well as to the subsequent development of Giodi’s Mega Stamper.

Design Challenge:
Giodi Spa Company selected Porex as their partner in the new development of the Mega Marker - a marker designed specifically for use by small children. The marker needed a nib that would produce a 19mm line width, high ink flow, and strength to stand up to the rigors of everyday play. The tip also required cost effectiveness for the product to be attractive to the market.

Solution:
Porex engineers developed a sturdy, oversized nib with a diameter of more than 17milimeters. To meet the ink flow and strength requirements, a blend of polymers was developed. Efficiencies in the design were achieved through the use of proprietary manufacturing equipment - specially developed by Porex for manufacturing larger nibs. This not only contributed to a cost-effective solution but also improved the quality of the finished marker.

Result:
Godi's patented Mega Marker resulted from a collaborative design and development effort. The production of a custom nib solution contributed towards the product's successful launch - reinforcing the manufacturers role as an innovator of children's coloring markers. Further, the collaborative success led to the subsequent development of Giodi's Mega Stamper.
