POREX Chromatography Media are the porous design solutions chosen by a broad spectrum of chromatography manufacturers to help filter contaminants and facilitate SPE and column flow through.
Design Challenge:
Manufacturers of High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) pumping systems and Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) columns, plates and tips require highly effective filtration systems to protect high-precision internal components from contamination and to hold SPE packing media in place.
Solution:
Porex developed a range of polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and porous polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) chromatography media ideally suited for HPLC pumping systems and SPE columns, plates and tips. POREX Chromatography Media provides superior resiliency for a good compression fit and strong construction to withstand the rigors of automated equipment assembly processes and to ensure a durable product. Porex’s PTFE media is available in a wide range of standard and custom configurations where high purity is required. PTFE requires no laminated support for handling, although optional polypropylene laminate backing is available.
Result:
Porex’s HPLC filters help maintain HPLC instrument integrity and minimize downtime for inline, sample, and solvent filtration. Porex’s SPE column, plate and tip filters in traditional and ball frit designs help facilitate the sorbent packing material in each SPE column and offer an automation friendly alternative for multi-well formats.
