Perfume Aspirator
The sweet smell of success: Porex assists a perfume manufacturer in the development of perfume samplers that eliminate the need for pumps and simplify packaging. Porex’s design achieves these goals, reducing materials and production costs for the manufacturer.
Design Challenge:
A perfume manufacturer requested Porex's assistance in developing a new generation of perfume samplers that would eliminate the need for pumps. In addition to reducing costs by eliminating the pump, the manufacturer wished to create a simpler packaging method that would offer more space for advertising.
Solution:
Porex engineers selected a coarse PE material for the perfume sampler. The manufacturing process is greatly simplified over the previous design, with Porex providing rolls of PE material from which the perfume manufacturer die-cuts a tiny part required for the sampler. The new generation perfume sampler consists of a blister pack, the perfume sample itself, the die-cut Porex part and an injection-molded diffuser. The Porex part acts as a storage reservoir and, to some extent, it also acts as a diffuser.
Result:
Porex's solution simplified packaging for the perfume manufacturer, saving costs for materials and manufacturing. In addition, the four-component perfume sampler works well and has achieved great success and acceptance in the marketplace.
