After the feasibility phase of the development process, Porex will help you determine the need for a prototype tool. An existing sample part or design may satisfy the needs of your solution in certain situations. At other times, a prototype tool may be developed to confirm the effectiveness of combining the form, function and commercial requirements of your project into a single successful solution. Porex’s development engineers create a part print based on your sample requirements before starting development of any prototype tool. Following your approval, Porex manufactures the prototype tooling required to produce your prototype parts. You will be asked to evaluate the parts, focusing on three critical design areas:
Did the parts meet your functional requirements?
Did the parts meet your dimensional requirements?
|
 |
Will the solution meet your commercial requirements?
If any of these requirements are not completely satisfied, the development team will make necessary modifications to any manufacturing process conditions, material formulations, and/or tool designs. Once all of your design criteria are fulfilled, the project will enter the production development phase.
