Porex’s plastics as well as foams, sponges, fabrics, and even non-woven materials are representative of porous materials. Because these materials are composed of pores whose cavities are connected to one another, open-cell porous materials permit fluidic communication throughout the part.
Porex manufactures products from a number of thermoplastic materials. Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE), High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Polypropylene (PP), PTFE and PVDF constitute the majority of Porex's current production; however, EVA, Nylon-6, Polyurethane (PE) and PE/PP Co-polymer are also standard materials used in Porex's day-to-dy operation. Our lightweight materials are moldable for high volume economies and offer easy fabrication or conversion to different forms. Large sheets, rolls or other material formats can be provided or sized to specification. Click on one of the polymers for more technical information.
