Porex focuses on the production and commercialization of fiber components that use virgin or blended staple fibers (cut fibers), as demonstrated by our many patent pending and proprietary fiber manufacturing technologies. Until Porex’s development of a manufacturing process specifically designed for use with staple fibers, the physical and chemical properties of fibers and fibrous materials could not be precisely tuned to particular applications. In part, this was due to earlier manufacturers’ dependence on continuous fibers, which made fiber blends and production an arduous and time-consuming process.
Our fibers are shaped to form into defined cross-sectional profiles. We offer short production runs and online conversion capabilities. Standard fibers shapes include rods, tubes, sheets, rolls and extruded shapes. Our fibrous sheet material can be converted and modified using the Porex Fiber Process - a technology based on blending of different fiber materials and functional fibers.
