POREX^® Battery Vents/Separators are used with lead-acid batteries to allow vapor to escape and arrest any flames resulting from overcharging. The evolution of the battery to more energy-dense rapid charging systems has brought new uses for porous materials such as membranes, separators, and catalytic support. Because battery systems can still dangerously expand and contract during use, numerous configurations are offered for excellent venting options to equalize battery pressure and to allow heat flow.
