POREX^® Lighting Components enable lighting to be designed to withstand the elements throughout the product lifetime. For example, automotive and general exterior lighting must be able to handle temperature, weather, and debris contact extremes. To function properly, a sealed lamp must be able to breathe, to allow for pressure differential and condensation issues. Porex microporous polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) breathable membranes offer high water intrusion pressure resistance, high temperature use, and oleophobicity. Other porous plastics with excellent UL flame ratings, IP 67 and NEMA tested, enhanced thermal conductivity or custom configurations are also available.
