President, Porex

Rob Carpio is president of Filtration Group’s Porex Corporation, which is making the world safer, healthier and more productive through innovative porous polymer technologies that can be used in a wide variety of applications in healthcare, consumer, electronics, and industrial markets to improve product performance.

Prior to Porex, Mr. Carpio served as president of Filtration Group’s Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) group of businesses as well as president of IAQ’s Purafil business, where he and his team dramatically grew sales and profitability through an intense focus on the customer, firmly establishing Purafil as the global leader in gas phase chemical filtration.

Prior to Filtration Group, Mr. Carpio served as group vice president at Precision Castparts Corporation (a Berkshire Hathaway company), where he had full P&L responsibility for a $400 million aerospace parts manufacturing business in North America and led the turnaround of multiple CNC machining facilities. Mr. Carpio has also held global positions in engineering and operations at Alcoa Corporation, which he joined after serving as a client engagement manager for McKinsey & Company. He proudly began his career in the United States Army.

Mr. Carpio graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering. He also holds a master’s degree in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma and a MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School.
