Why watch this on-demand webinar
Blood handling systems must safely manage air, fluids, and contaminants while maintaining reliable performance throughout the device lifecycle. Whether designing for blood collection, transfusion, organ perfusion, or dialysis, engineers face many of the same challenges: protecting patients, ensuring clinical performance, simplifying manufacturing, and meeting increasingly complex regulatory requirements.
Join Porex for the third session in our Medical Device webinar series as we explore four key blood management applications:
- Blood Collection & IV
- Transfusion & Administration
- Organ Perfusion
- Dialysis
Using real-world examples, our engineering team will discuss design challenges common to each application, the engineering approaches and porous technologies that address them, and how selecting the right material platform early can reduce technical risk, support regulatory readiness, and accelerate development.
You’ll also gain practical insights into the engineering tradeoffs, material selection strategies, and design considerations that influence performance across today’s blood management applications.
Plan for 45 minutes of presentation followed by 15 minutes of live Q&A with our engineering team.
In this webinar, you will learn:
- Where porous components create value across blood collection, transfusion, organ perfusion, and dialysis systems
- Common engineering challenges and innovation opportunities across blood collection, transfusion, organ perfusion, and dialysis
- Engineering approaches for self-sealing venting, air and bubble elimination, transducer protection, and endotoxin control
- How different porous material platforms solve fluid management and filtration challenges through real-world case studies
- Key considerations for selecting materials that support device performance, manufacturability, and evolving regulatory expectations
This webinar is designed for professionals in Research & Development, Design Engineering, Materials Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, and Product Management who are responsible for advancing the next generation of blood management technologies or improving existing systems.
