Sample Collection Media

Porex engineers absorbent pads, collection swabs, and microsampling materials that control sample uptake, retention, and release, reducing variability from user technique and supporting consistent analyte recovery across collection formats.

Sample Preparation Media

Porex depth filtration media and track-etched membranes are engineered to remove particulates, separate blood components, and eliminate inhibitors from complex biological matrices, enabling reliable and reproducible downstream analysis.

Nucleic Acid Isolation

Porex silica-embedded frits integrate functionalized silica within a three-dimensional polymer scaffold, enabling high-efficiency DNA and RNA extraction directly from complex clinical matrices including sputum, whole blood, and stool.

Immunoassays

Porex offers components for controlled fluid handling, reagent delivery, and consistent performance across lateral flow and other immunoassay formats. Porex TruFlow™ materials and Oxyphen® track-etched membranes are engineered to reduce variability and improve signal reliability across low-volume whole blood and other complex sample types.

Blood and Plasma

Porex engineers have developed solutions for various blood-based diagnostic applications, including volumetric absorptive microsampling devices as well as plasma isolation for point-of-care and laboratory workflows. Porex Oxyphen® track-etched membranes can isolate plasma from as little as 10 µL of whole blood, while depth filtration media can be optimized for centrifuge-free plasma and pathogen isolation from 5-10 mL whole blood.
