POREX® offers a variety of PE, PP and porous PTFE filters — commonly known as frits, for use in commercially available SPE columns, cartridges or multi-well SPE plates to facilitate column concentration to a vacuum manifold, needle or collection vessel. Hydrophilic, oleophobic, blended-resin, and functionalized materials are also available for use in the most challenging chromatography applications.

Porex frits and filters offer:

  • Controlled flow for optimized reaction time (kinetic control).
  • Superior resin support due to narrow pore size distribution.
  • Cleanliness and high purity with very low levels of extractables, leachables, and particle shedding.

Protein Precipitation Media

Remove contaminants from protein samples without plugging or breakthrough

Protein precipitation is widely used in downstream processing of biological products to concentrate proteins and purify them from various contaminants.  POREX® Precipitation Membranes aid in the removal of contaminating lipids, salts and proteins from samples prior to LC-MS/MS without plugging or breakthrough. Designed to retain acetonitrile, methanol and other organic solvents our protein precipitation media solutions:

  • Retain acetonitrile, methanol and other organic solvents.
  • Provide reproducible and consistent results and are chemically inert, hydrophobic, oleophobic, while containing no leachables
  • Increase efficiency through elimination of time-consuming centrifugation and transfer steps.
  • Are independently tested for solvent leakage, nonspecific binding, flow rates and well blockage by LC-MS/MS.
  • Are a PE based solvent support media solution – designed to retain low surface tension organic solvents for extended periods of time without plugging, leakage or breakthrough.

POREX® affinity filters and supports are an innovative range of advanced porous materials that enhance functionality through surface modification or sorbent addition. Designed to capture, clean-up, desalt and purify peptides, proteins and oligonucleotides. POREX affinity filters and supports help optimize flow and retention variables and can be used in pipette tips, multi-well plates, spin down and gravity flow centrifuge columns.  Our Porex materials:

  • Aid in the optimization of flow and the retention variables through surface modification and sorbent addition/blending.
  • Help facilitate high resolution with high flow velocity.
  • Have multiple configuration designs for applications such as pipette tips, 48- and 96- well plates, spin columns and gravity flow columns.
  • Offer versatile options including discs, sheets with Controlled Pore Glass (CPG), reverse phase (C8, C18, other), anionic, cationic, all in a homogenous porous matrix.

Dissolution Filters

Filter out contaminants during the dissolution testing process

POREX® Dissolution Filters are used in conjunction with pharmaceutical tablet and capsule products to help filter contaminates during the dissolution testing process. Heavy metal free POREX Dissolution Filters are available in cannula, circular/disk and filter frit designs in a wide variety of porosities and:

  • Meet U.S. Pharmacopeia Standards for elemental impurities
  • Can be used with molecular diagnostics, clinical IVD, infectious diseases and research applications.
  • Will withstand automated assembly equipment and resist breakage due to strong, durable and lightweight construction.
  • Are designed with chemically-resistant media which will tolerate most acids and bases.
  • Offer instant pore size identification with color-coded resins.

Cannula Filters

POREX Cannula Filters are used on the end of a sampling cannula and feature a large surface area and optimized flow rate for an ideal choice in applications with a high presence of particulates.

Material: Porous UHMWPE

Available Sizes: 1, 4, 5, 10, 20, 35, & 70um sizes

Filter Frits

POREX Filter Frits are circular filters used with low-dimension sample probes in applications where it is important to keep the filtration process outside of the vessel.

Material: Porous PE

Available Sizes: 10 & 45um sizes

Filter Tips

POREX Filter Tips are used with low quantities of particulates and flow at the filter bottom.

Material: Porous PE

Available Sizes: 2, 5, 10, 20 & 45um sizes

POREX Filter Tips are available in and can be used on sample cannulas with 1/6” diameter.
