Blood Transfusion Safety System
Reduce risk of transfusion-transmitted infections
As an example of our partnerships with many innovative medical device manufacturers, Porex partnered with CERUS on their unique INTERCEPT™ Blood System that is designed to reduce the risk of transfusion-transmitted infections by inactivating a broad range of pathogens that may be present in donated blood. Porex designed the porous media that incorporates the functional binder which is critical to the pathogen inactivating process.
Customizable for other blood management solutions, POREX® porous media:
- Can be customized to your design specifications – Customized two- and three-dimensional porous matrix shapes can be developed for precise filtering and flow requirements.
- Can be functionalized – Proprietary binders and other media can be incorporated into the porous matrix to functionalize the filtering and binding capabilities.
- Delivers high-quality and consistent reliability– Medical device manufacturers around the world rely on our customized medical device components, which provide functional solutions for challenging applications.
