Porex® Revolutionizes Cosmetics with New Innovation: Nubiform™

At MakeUp in Paris (June 22-23, 2017; Carrousel du Louvre), Porex Corporation (“Porex®”) will showcase a new technology that takes design creativity to new heights: Nubiform™. A high-performance elastomer, Nubiform breaks new ground by offering cosmetics designers a high-performance alternative to foams and foam-like products used in numerous cosmetics products such as foundation applicators, liquid eye liners, lip stain and eye shadow applicators.

Nubiform will be on display at Booth #E-18.

Nubiform’s surface is exceptionally soft and smooth, giving cosmetics products a pleasing consumer feel. It also offers unique 3D shaping capabilities and an open-cell porous structure that optimizes flow-through of a large spectrum of cosmetics formulations. Pore sizes are fully adjustable throughout the structure, giving designers the capability of producing a rigid handle with a soft and comfortable tip. Nubiform comes available in a multi-layer structure, or it can be insert molded to other solid plastics.

An optional feature of Nubiform is Porex® Barrier Technology, which incorporates anti-microbial protection that is evenly distributed throughout the material structure. This technology prevents microbial growth and kills potentially harmful bacteria, reducing the potential for contamination and achieving a higher level of hygiene—an added desirable benefit that enhances the consumer interaction with cosmetics brands.

“Cosmetics consumers increasingly want products that are easy-to-use, quick and clean,” said Rusty Martin, Global Marketing Director, Porex. “Nubiform is an innovation that allows optimal flow-through of cosmetics formulations, and it gives consumers superior precision and control when applying makeup and contouring.”
